Anonymous asked: WHY in the world would you miss Shane?

I’m not saying, “Oh, the show is going to suck without Shane (or Dale).” What I am saying is:  Of the first two seasons, watching Shane’s descent into madness was one of the most entertaining things. Jon Bernthal was great and, evidenced by how much people love/hate Shane, he really brought a lot to the show. The fact that so many people were relieved when he finally died wasn’t because he was poorly acted or just a terrible character in general, but because he was so good as an antagonist that it was cathartic to see him finally bite it. Unlike annoying characters (Lori!) or pointless characters (poor T-Dog), Shane was actually a presence that you just couldn’t look away from when he was on-screen. Hate him or not, he was fun to watch, just like Dale, and for that reason, yes, I will miss him, because he was an important piece of the first two seasons and one of the characters I had the most fun watching. That said, he had his time on the show, it was great, and season 3 is going to still kick all kinds of ass without him, Dale, or anyone else we’ve lost.
